Yes. I did spend most of my time in the last 24 hours watching Indiana Jones. All of them. One thing kept coming to my mind again and again. His girlfriends that AREN'T Marion Ravenwood are awful. Period. Let's review them shall we?
In Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the audience is subjected to the constant, piercing scream of Kate Capshaw who plays Willie Scott, a bar singer. It seems that Willie has never been outdoors in her life, or at least has never been to a zoo. She spends half the movie screaming, which makes up about 90% of her lines. I blame the writers. Going from kick ass Marion to "I'm afraid of a leaf" Willie is awful to endure.
We then move to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Here we find Alison Doody playing Dr. Elsa Schneider. I have to say that I found her tolerable...until I found out she was a Nazi. Once this was known, I never felt bad for her again in the movie. Not once. Oh, you fell to your death? Maybe you shouldn't have been an evil Nazi! I think Indiana felt the same way, hence his brutally threatening her with her life.
In conclusion, Marion Ravenwood is sweet. She was the only nonevil, nonpitiful girlfriend that Indiana Jones has in the movies. I don't want to spoil the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for anyone, but let's just say that I am pretty sure that Steven Speilberg and George Lucas agree with me. Thank God.
