F**K!!!!!!

I have recently noticed (along with the rest of the world) that Mother Nature has been acting up as of late. With the floods, hurricanes, tornados, cyclones, tsunamis, and wildfires Mother Nature seems pissed, and it has become clear why. The newest Yahoo news story is titled: "North Pole could be Ice-Free this Summer." S**T!!! For the first time in Earth's existence as far as we know it, the earth could have a huge puddle at the top rather than actual ice. That isn't how Earth is supposed to be. The North Pole was frozen for a reason. Last year a record was set for the most ice melted in the North Pole, and look how Earth has been doing since then. This is absolutely horrible. I agree with Al Gore: There could be no greater crisis. Think of the effects! Say good-bye to the polar bear and any other animal that lives up there. (BTW: Thanks President Bush for making them "threatened" so you don't have to protect their environment.) Say hello to record floodings, horrible winters, all-too-powerful hurricanes, wildfires, drought, and heat stroke! I honestly can't believe people aren't making more of a deal about this. We're destroying the place we live! Okay...I'm off to rally the troops. Oh ps: here's a link to the story. Do you love how it is so blase about it and acts like the outcome will just be political with land and stuff?

Warhol at the Wexner

YAY! There is going to be an Andy Warhol exhibit at the Wexner Center at OSU!!! I just had to mention that. For an awesome Warhol movie, watch Factory Girl. It focuses mainly on the life of Edie Sedgwick, but I love Guy Pearce as Andy. He does a terrific job. Sienna Miller is really good too. Check it out.

Big Surprise! NOT.

One of Yahoo's bug stories today was that Obama has won over half of Clinton's supporters over thus far! Big Surprise...Not. Democrats are not idiots, no matter what Fox News wants you to believe. We know that we will back our candidate no matter who it is. Even I, the most staunch Clinton supporter, was willing to pick up on Obama pin and get on the bandwagon. Before everyone even knew that Obama would be the nominee, I remember the numbers were only about 28% of Clinton supporters who would not support Obama. So why is it a huge deal that he's won over more than half of Clinton's supporters? Isn't that expected, or at the least, implied? EPIPHANY: My new name for the Media: Captain Obvious. We'll talk about it like it's a person. Sorry. I'm hormonal today.

The Circus of the Media

I have previously expressed how I feel about the media. I don't think I need to reemphasize those feelings for anyone, but I don't think there is anything wrong with complaining once and a while either. The media is so hungry for a news story that it is getting pathetic. The Obamas did a "Terrorist" handshake? Please. Cindy McCain stole a recipe? Honestly. The election is all ready a circus, and the media has risen to the rank of ringleader, directing the audience's attention to where ever they see fit. In the center ring, we find pointless talking points such as Obama's version of a presidential seal! To right, you will find the wonderful race and age discussion! Don't worry, there are enough statistics to make all members of the family happy. And to the left, the smallest ring of them all, we have the real issues. Iraq?! That can wait. Tell us more about Cindy McCain's brownies!

Indiana Jones and the Bad Girlfriends

Yes. I did spend most of my time in the last 24 hours watching Indiana Jones. All of them. One thing kept coming to my mind again and again. His girlfriends that AREN'T Marion Ravenwood are awful. Period. Let's review them shall we?
In Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the audience is subjected to the constant, piercing scream of Kate Capshaw who plays Willie Scott, a bar singer. It seems that Willie has never been outdoors in her life, or at least has never been to a zoo. She spends half the movie screaming, which makes up about 90% of her lines. I blame the writers. Going from kick ass Marion to "I'm afraid of a leaf" Willie is awful to endure.
We then move to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Here we find Alison Doody playing Dr. Elsa Schneider. I have to say that I found her tolerable...until I found out she was a Nazi. Once this was known, I never felt bad for her again in the movie. Not once. Oh, you fell to your death? Maybe you shouldn't have been an evil Nazi! I think Indiana felt the same way, hence his brutally threatening her with her life.
In conclusion, Marion Ravenwood is sweet. She was the only nonevil, nonpitiful girlfriend that Indiana Jones has in the movies. I don't want to spoil the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for anyone, but let's just say that I am pretty sure that Steven Speilberg and George Lucas agree with me. Thank God.

I'm Baaaacckk

I took a while off from the whole "writing on a blog nobody reads" thing. I think it served me well. I got to study for finals, which I'm sure did not help my chemistry grade, but nonetheless...I'm back.
We all know what has happened since my last entry. My beloved candidate had to drop out of the race. You can only imagine the grief. I think that Hillary fans everywhere are going through the stages of depression. Denial - hmm...well a few of us were kind of in denial for a while there at the end. Anger - Many of us took out our problems on Barack supporters, even Barack himself. Bargaining - VP?!!!? Depression - Still there. Acceptance - not quite. The worst part of the entire sequence of events was when Hillary gave her final speech as a candidate. My reaction was: Damn. You are amazing and now I am even more upset that you are out.
Enough of that. There's only so much I can complain. Oh, but I CAN complain about the terrible sunburn on my back. It is painful, itchy, and it makes wearing shirts feel very awkward.
Coming up this week - trip to Mississippi for Hurricane Katrina Relief. Isn't it sad that this is still going on? The Hurricane was nearly 4 years ago. Thank you President Bush for doing such a great job on recovery. Oh and thank you FEMA. Don't forget about FEMA. The media all ready has.
Speaking of the media, I am currently reading The Assault on Reason by Al Gore. Did you know our media is horrible?! I definately did, but this book only reassures my woes. Did you know that our media is the 53rd freest press in the world? That is horrible for how free we claim to be, and how we have the constitution and all. Anna Nicole Smith gets more airtime than most senators. How lovely.
Ponder all of that while I apply aloe to my lobsterback.
